Oh yes, Friendster...

During the weekend, I had been enjoying myself surfing through friends of friends in Friendster. I've messaged a few people, and I've tried adding some of them too. While not everyone I tried adding were available, I had fun reading through very interesting profiles. One friend I have put it as "friendster whoring" and that's what I definitely did for the past few days.

It's definitely something else -- the idea of building a network of friends of friends of friends of friends. Adding new friends increases your network, and having more friends adds to the fun of friendster whoring. I've been having fun lately, and I'm planning on meeting a lot more people through Friendster than personal referrals -- which take almost forever. At least I'd be able to meet people on my own volition (or my own GUTS), and if the other person is also game then we'd be friends not just in friendster.

I've tried bookmarking people, and it is effective. Some people whom I have bookmarked over the weekend have actually added me as their friends. I haven't been informed though since my very good friend's email spam filter has been killing messages from friendster. No worries, I actually like having less messages now that the SPAM filter is getting really active -- and effective. Although in this instance, it would qualify as a false positive.

Anyway, should be looking for topics to talk about in my gender and sexuality talk show later. Will have a blast surely with my partner later. Comments would be most welcome. :)

Oh, and for your convenience, if you would like to add me to your friendster, it's mikhailberis at free.net.ph -- Please, do NOT spam that account, because frankly it won't work (or so I think).

Reconnecting with people

2021 started with a a good sense of connection for me, having spent time with friends and family in a simple celebration of the oncoming year. The transition from 2020 to 2021 and being able to look back at a good part of my recent history got me thinking about how life has been for me and the family for the past decade. Six-hour workdays for focus and productivity

Sometime in 2018 I experimented with a strict 6-hour workday. I negotiated this with my manager who at the time said it was worth the experiment. The idea would be for me to be at the office by 10am and be out by 4pm. This didn't preclude me from continuing to work while I was in the train, or at home. It was an experiment where I can remember some good and bad parts and this is a post looking back at that time.
